Rev. Rodriguez asks Sen. Obama about abortion

Comments

Where is the music...this was a great dance around the issue. Maybe the question wasn't clear?

Given the tight rope that Obama has to walk on abortion--being a candidate in the Democratic Party--I think that he navigates it well and provides an answer that appreciates those complexities , rather than reducing his answer to grandstanding on one side of the issue.

In addition, he takes an approach that shows he finds abortion to be something that should be reduced--which the church underscores by saying that not only should we fight for outright banning of it, but also policies to reduce the practice.

He has to navigate a very narrow path on the question of abortion because of the Democratic party coalition. But he does it in a way that tells me he appreciates the grave moral dilemma that abortion presents.
